Artemis (Lady of Wild Things) (H:35" x W:28" x D:7") The body is composed of palm petiole, palm stalks, hairy oak caps, pine cone scales, seed pods, mosses, beaver sticks, peacock feathers and wooden beads. The mask is sculpted from polymer clay with gold leaf and ink overlays. The eyes are fossils. All components are pegged, sewn and glued.
Bird (H:28" x W:24" x D:34") Bird is composed of antler, coconut, sticks, seed pods, bean husks, dried leaves and other natural materials. All joints are pegged and glued.
Kabu (Earth Spirit) (H:26" x W:16" x D:6") Sculptural figure composed of wood roots, heart pine, beaver sticks, seed pods, shells, waxed linen, mosses and beads. I cut, cleaned, sanded and oiled all wooden components; then drilled, pegged and glued them at all assemblage points. The face I carved with my flex shaft from fat lighter
Pele (Volcano Goddess) (H:62" x W:32" x D:34") The body is pegged cholla cactus with a stained wood mask. The hair is alpaca wool. Ornamentation is fabric, fiber, protea petals, dried flowers, coral and seed beads. The sculpture is mounted on a cedar stump.
Sedna (Water Spirit) (H:30" x W:16" x D:5") Figurative sculpture composed of palm petiole, dried spikes, bamboo covered with flax paper, gauze, beads, wool, shells and soft sculpture face. All components of figure pegged and glued, face soft sculpted, dyed and covered with gauze. Other materials sewn on.
